Temporary Video Editor

KOMO-TV is looking for a dynamic video news editor. We edit with Avid Media Composer. Candidates need to be able to meet tight deadlines. KOMO airs 9.5 hours of live local content each weekday. You will be responsible for editing all forms of news content including packages. We are looking for someone who can tell a story and connect with the audience over multiple platforms. We are looking to fill this temporary position for approximately 13 weeks.

Job responsibilities include:
• Editing video for daily news coverage, special projects, and sweep period pieces
• Taking in news feeds from news bureaus and various news organizations
• Collaborating with anchors, reporters, and producers on video elements of newscasts
• Meeting daily deadlines in a high-energy working environment

Requirements and Qualifications:
• College degree or minimum one (1) year relative experience in the field
• Knowledge of nonlinear editing technology and Avid Media Composer editing is a definite plus
• Ability to work with a multitude of people and personalities while maintaining a professional work environment

The hourly compensation wage for this temporary position is $29.67. Temporary employees earn sick time based on hours worked.
