Job Summary/Description:
KOLD 13 News is searching for a dynamic, engaging meteorologist to join our First Alert weather team. If you've got superior forecasting and storytelling skills, it could be you! We are looking for a meteorologist adept in all aspects of meteorology, including forecasting, graphics presentation, digital presentation, social media, and live reporting in the field. You will be responsible for delivering accurate & compelling weather forecasts on our weekend newscasts, and you'll be a general assignment reporter during the week.
Duties/Responsibilities include, (but are not limited to):
• Produce/anchor weekend weather reports on all platforms in a clear, engaging, and impactful manner (will often fill in weekdays)
• Take ownership and execute our First Alert weather brand
• Be fluent in the latest weather technology
• Pitch, write, shoot, edit (MMJ) stories that align with our station brand and make an impact on our community
Qualifications/Requirements:
• BS/BA in Meteorology/Journalism/Communications or equivalent background
• Flexibility with respect to scheduling and/or assigned work shifts, especially considering the nature of weather events
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
