Job Summary/Description:
KNOE-TV 8 is looking for a Sports Reporter/MMJ/Weekend Sports Anchor to join our team. The ideal candidate must be able to shoot, edit, write, and have a strong social media skill set. Our three-person KNOE sports department focuses on local athletes and premiere high school and college athletics. We are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter, someone who thrives under deadlines and is ready to cover some of the best teams in Louisiana and the nation.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Writing, reporting, shooting, editing, and doing live shots
- Daily news photography and editing
- Must be able to shoot and edit
- Work efficiently alone
- Contribute content daily to KNOE.COM and other associated digital products
- Work in various weather conditions
- Candidate will be scheduled to work weekends
Qualifications/Requirements:
- The successful candidate will be creative, extremely detail-oriented, and have very strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and communication skills
- Positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced and dynamic environment under deadline pressure
- Able to work well with a team
- Flexible to work nights and weekends
- Strong grasp of visual design, grammar, and spelling
- Applicable college degree required; appropriate experience may be substituted at the employer's discretion
- Two years of anchoring/reporting experience is preferred. Experience as a news reporter or other applicable journalism experience may be accepted
- A clean driving record, proof of insurance, and a valid driver's license
