Role Overview: As the Executive Editor, you will spearhead the launch and strategic development of IndieWire Edu, focusing on scalable growth across content, events, programming, membership, and partnerships. This role demands a visionary leader with extensive industry expertise, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a track record of driving growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Working closely with the IW Editor-in-Chief and the Publisher, develop and execute a comprehensive multi-platform content strategy that drives revenue growth.
• Establish a year-round schedule of live and virtual events in key locations such as LA, NYC, and beyond.
• Create and implement a tiered membership program offering exclusive events, content, and networking opportunities.
• Collaborate with Ampav to design and market engaging programming and content.
• Curate and manage panelists and moderators for all IndieWire Edu events.
• Identify and cultivate major content and sponsorship partnerships.
• Forge educational and sponsorship opportunities with leading film festivals, colleges, universities, studios, nonprofits, and other key organizations.
• Foster strong cross-departmental relationships within IndieWire, including editorial, sales, video, events, marketing, and social media, to ensure alignment with IndieWire's mission.
• Oversee budgeting and financial management, including monthly expenditure reviews.
As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
Typical wage range: $135k - $150k plus annual bonus. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.
The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits. PMC is committed to the health and wellness of our employees.
