We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Lead Editor to join our team. This role would suit an individual who is passionate about fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment while driving innovative technical transformations and shaping the future of our editing landscape.
Overview

Personable & passionate, our Lead Editor will be at the heart of our post-production operation. Capable of inspiring our current team of editors to produce world class content, in-line with our purpose of being vital to the Premier League's continued success. The lead editor will have a keen interest in keeping up to date with latest technological advances and workflows, so our production teams remain at the cutting edge of sports production. This role is all about shaping our editing blueprint now but then driving innovation for our future editing roadmap.

The role will ensure the smooth running of our post-production requirements as well as implementing appropriate edit training plans for both our existing team of editors and the wider team. The Lead Editor will be responsible for, in collaboration with our facilities provider, keeping across industry trends and technical solutions in the post-production environment. Recommending, testing and implementing solutions to improve workflows will be an important element to this role.

An experienced self-starter, proven motivator and collaborator the lead editor will work closely with the Head of Technical Operations and Innovations ensuring we create a culture of continuous improvement within the technical operations team.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Team Leadership and Development:
• Cultivate an inclusive culture where all team members feel valued and empowered. Provide mentorship and professional growth opportunities, ensuring a diverse and equitable workplace.
• Responsible for designing and implementing training plans for individuals with different levels of experience and requirement, e.g. developing our production teams to self-edit.
• Managing our large freelance editor pool
• Drive creatively within the content we produce

Technical Innovation:
• Working with the Head of Tech Ops & Innovation to research & test new tech and workflows across our edit platforms
• Lead the integration of cutting-edge technologies and tools to streamline edit workflows, enhance content delivery, and improve overall efficiency.
• Champion the adoption of new digital platforms and solutions.

Stakeholder Engagement:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering open communication and collaboration to achieve common objectives.
• Ability to influence and engage multiple stakeholders, with an ability to explain more complex technical solutions in simple terms
• Key point of content with regards to edit requirements & solutions with other departments ensuring seamless collaboration.

Administrative
• Create and maintain detailed project documentation Including edit logs, project files and version control.
• Work with the production management team to ensure the edit requirements across PLP are managed in a cost-effective manner

Requirements/Experience
• Minimum5 years' experience in post-production editing and extensive knowledge of the freelance market.
• Proficiency In Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere pro, after Effects and other relevant software.
• Strong understanding of the latest editorial technologies and digital media trends.
• Ability to drive innovation and manage change effectively with a proven experience of implementing new workflows & technology.
• Excellent leadership, communication and Interpersonal skills, with a commitment to DE&I
• Proven Experience in implementing new technical workflow improvements.
• Ability to work at scale and within the detail
• Commercially aware
