Job Description
The Arena Marketing Manager crafts, implements, and drives strategic integrated marketing, promotional, and advertising efforts that drive awareness and positions Toyota Center as the foremost destination for the best experiences and events in the country. This role will also be charged with providing marketing support for the Houston Rockets NBA franchise.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
• Provide marketing leadership and support across all mediums for Toyota Center concerts and events. This includes media buying and strategic planning where necessary.
• Assist in the development of advertising campaigns for Toyota Center events which includes concerts, family shows, and other sporting events.
• Serve as Toyota Center liaison with promoter, tour marketing and media during all third-party events. Duties include distributing credentials to media, escorting photographers, providing press releases, coordinating artist gifts, and assisting tour managers when needed.
• Create and publish content for consumption across all digital platforms for Toyota Center.
• Develop grassroot marketing plans and have ability to create marketing collateral to generate positive publicity for upcoming events.
• Lead internal marketing efforts by maintaining calendar, updating in-arena signage and television spots run in house.
• Create and distribute press releases for new events announced inside Toyota Center.
• Schedule radio and/or TV interviews for artists and events when necessary.
• Assist in video content creation to promote events inside Toyota Center.
• Assist with Houston Rockets marketing initiatives including ticketing, brand storytelling, retail releases, fan acquisition, corporate partnerships and influencer seeding.
• Assist with Houston Rockets tentpole events that drive fan retention and revenue to the organization.
• Work with the Director of Marketing to create a clear branding strategy for the arena.
• Write marketing copy for TV, radio and in-arena when necessary.
• Help promote and market 3rd party event spaces inside the arena.
• Keep up with current news and trends to help promote upcoming initiatives.

Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, digital media, communications, or a related field
• A minimum of three years' experience in the field of live entertainment (sports, theatre, concerts, etc.)
• Minimum of three years marketing, promotions or game day experience, preferably with arena, pro team, live entertainment promotion or similar work environment
• Must have strong organizational and project management skills, as well as attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills
• Firm grasp on various marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including social, digital, traditional advertising and email marketing
• Ability to work in Adobe Creative Suite and mobile applications for editing content
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and mobile applications for editing content
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with local media partners and talent
• Must be able to excel in a fast-paced work environment, react quickly and appropriately to unpredictable situations
• Able to demonstrate a strong presence, highlighting poise, professionalism, likeability, approachability, and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong visual eye regarding the creation and curation of creative emails, graphics, photography, and video for social publishing
• Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Can create positive energy using both voice & body language
• Ability to take creative direction and be flexible in the face of change and last-minute initiatives
• Ability to think clearly and quickly in high-pressure/time sensitive situations

• Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays, if necessary.
Physical & mental requirements:
• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.
• The vision requirement includes close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Nature of position requires physical mobility and the ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
• Must have ability to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed.
