Your Impact:

Hearst Magazines seeks a Senior Financial/Compensation Analyst who will play a critical role in the finance operations for the company. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of the compensation across the organization, ensuring hires, transfers, and promotions are all processed within budgeted run rates. You will also continuously monitor and analyze actual run rates vs budget/forecast to identify risks and opportunities. This role requires working with HR, Finance, and various operating stakeholders. Cross-team coordination, time management, and excellent communication skills are essential.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, be well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks. High competency of key computer programs including Excel is a must. The ability to manage multiple tasks and stay on deadline are required in this role. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, fast learner, and motivated to go above and beyond what is expected. In addition, the Financial Analyst must also be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. What You'll Do:
• Review and approve job REQ's and job offers in Oracle HCM to ensure salaries are within budget and department codes are correct.
• Update Salary run rates with compensation changes, new hires, terminations, and organizational changes.
• Collaborate with Finance directors to make sure salary run rates are accurate.
• Collaborate with HR to make sure Oracle HCM is updated correctly with changes.
• Prepare monthly forecasts for salaries, taxes, benefits, and vacancy.
• Analyze actual compensation vs forecast and reconcile/explain variances, make correcting journal entries.
• Track vacancy rates by department, analyze data for financial implications vs budget/forecast.
• Analyze financial data and provide forecasting support.
• Prepare and reconcile annual compensation budget.
• Deliver regular and ad-hoc compensation reports and dashboards to provide insights to management.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance compensation processes and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.

Who You Are:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting (preferred) or finance.
• 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
• Advanced Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite required (including pivot tables, look up functions).
• Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets
• Exceptional attention to detail with ability to work with accuracy and meet deadlines.
• Retains interests in problem solving, variance analysis, and auditing.
• Highly organized with strong ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Must be highly collaborative and have strong interpersonal skills to positively communicate with all levels of staff.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Finance and HCM, Oracle Planning & Budgeting Cloud Service (EPBCS), Oracle Workforce Planning, and Smartview a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets.

The base salary for this role is between $85,000 and $102,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
