Your impact:
Women's Health is looking for a beauty editor to develop actionable, service-forward, and engaging beauty content across all our platforms (including print and digital) and to help guide overall beauty content strategy for WH. We produce digital, print, and social content across multiple pillars including health, fitness, beauty, sex & love, and news. WH takes a 360-degree approach to beauty, examining beauty from a wellness lens and acknowledging that it entails more than what's on the outside.
What you'll do:
• Top-edit beauty content ranging from short tutorials to longer personal essays
• Assign beauty stories to outside contributors as well as in-house staffers; recruit new voices to the brand
• Work with the beauty director to set lineups and pitch a variety of content across categories
• Write beauty articles; interview experts, analyze research, translate dermatological jargon into skin-care advice
• Inform WH's breadth of coverage through a deep understanding of the current beauty industry and a sense of future landscapes; attend press events or briefings as needed
Who you are:
• You have at least 5 years of post-grad experience with editing and/or writing for a consumer audience, with particular emphasis on beauty and/or wellness content
• You bring deep knowledge of beauty, beauty trends, and the beauty industry
• You are Interested in health and wellness topics and have a passion for helping people through informed content
• You are knowledgeable about SEO best practices and able to utilize Google Analytics or other tools
• You have experience working cross-platform
• You have honed reporting skills; a degree in journalism is a plus
