The Job

Reporting into the Associate Director, the Manager, Localisation will be responsible for managing the subtitling of General Entertainment (GE) content across HBO linear and OTT services for the Philippines.

Collaborating closely with Internal and External parties, the Manager, Localisation must ensure timely delivery and processing of subtitling assets in accordance with company objectives, while playing a key role in monitoring and advising on quality of subtitling within prescribed brand quality and creative standards, and local broadcast regulations.

This role must ensure all subtitling functions work smoothly and efficiently while innovating to adapt to changing business needs. In addition, this role will also support with ad hoc content censorship and onboarding activities for new acquisitions to support the local business requirements in their territory.

The Daily

MANAGE SUBTITLE QUALITY - 30%
• Work with Associate Director on preparation of creative briefs and / or ensure studios have clear understanding of briefs
• Work with vendors to deliver best in class subtitling and metadata translation for GE content on linear and non-linear services, meeting technical and creative specifications.
• Provide casting advice and approvals for relevant content for Filipino talent
• Perform SQC / VQC of Filipino dubs and subs. Liaise with studios in managing translations requiring content supplier approvals.
• Work with global WarnerMedia teams across casting and QC activities
• Provide support to departments such as Marketing, Creative Services and Content Sales through providing dub tracks and translated metadata.
• Provide logistical input for new localisation projects as required.

VENDOR MANAGEMENT - 15%
• Work with studios to effectively plan and prioritise dubbing and subtitling processes in order to meet delivery deadlines based on service requirements.
• Ensure dubbing and subtitling receivables are delivered via the appropriate workflow, i.e. final tracks, as-recorded scripts, translated titles/synopses, casting grids etc., and ensure that an accurate inventory is maintained.
• Manage pricing when required
• Provide input on appropriate SOPs and workflows, and ensure these are adhered to by vendors.
• Liaise with vendors and other parties to provide guidance and support in resolving technical issues.

REGIONAL CENSORSHIP SUPPORT - 15%
• Monitor local markets for shifting cultural concerns and standards
• Provide expertise on regional censorship guidelines, supporting central Standards & Practises teams on ratings and edit decisions on an ad hoc basis.
• Provide advise to vendors on appropriate actions

DATA MANAGEMENT - 15%
• Maintain accurate localisation and asset records within the Broadcast Management System and subtitling inventory
• Closely monitor subtitling costs in relation to the localisation budgets.

REGIONAL CONTENT SUPPORT - 10%
• Coordinate with local acquisitions teams to identify incoming local original production or acquisitions. Help to liaise between local production houses, WarnerMedia acquisitions/ original production teams as required, introducing local parties to central Operations functions for content onboarding as required.
• Provide local language support to these teams as required.

TEAM MANAGEMENT - 15%
• Oversee day to day work of direct reports and ensure all internal stakeholders have necessary information and training to work effectively
• Develop, motivate and lead team to adapt to business growth and opportunities.

Job Requirements
• Minimum 7+ years experience ideally within an entertainment, media or OTT company.
• Experience working in fast paced environments and ability to work across a multiple priorities whilst handling tight deadlines under pressure.
• High level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated strategic and creative thinking.
• Strong decision making and problem-solving capabilities.
• Responsible, accountable and results oriented.
• Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with internal and external parties to drive results.
