The Job

HBO Max's Ad Operation Team is an internal technical resource within the Acquisition Growth Marketing team that manages digital advertising campaign implementation, ad operations, and activation across all channels, incorporating the most innovative technology partners.

The Ad Operations Manager is responsible for managing a team of Ad Ops Specialists and working closely with Channel leads to best operationalize campaign set-up throughout the entire tech stack. This role will work very closely with the Sr. Manager to accomplish tasks ranging from researching new technologies to developing new workflows while managing campaign operations. The right person for this role is both proactive and team-oriented, has a strong technical background, leads by example, and has excellent cross-departmental interpersonal skills.

The Daily
• Lead Specialists in campaign execution responsibilities by providing leadership and guidance through daily involvement in trafficking and troubleshooting
• Enforce internal systems, processes, and best practices to maximize efficiency/effectiveness of department and agency workflows
• Prioritize day-to-day ad server and platform escalations such as ad experience, platform bugs, delivery, and pixel implementation, working with the MarTech team for resolution, and providing real-time communication to the media team
• Work with 4th party technology vendors including research study providers and verification services to ensure timely asset delivery and proper implementation
• Maintain strong technology vendor relationships and serve as a resource for any new developments within the ad tech landscape by providing updates and/or recommendations based on business requirements and needs
• Set up process and data management, including QA needs with Media and Analytics teams
• Support creative best practices and provide trafficking feedback when necessary

The Essentials
• 3-5 years of digital media operations experience within social, display, and search with exposure to ad technology and implementation processes; Planning experience a plus
• Nice to have: Entertainment industry experience, working in an agency environment
• Experience in trafficking in Campaign Manager360 is a must
• Experience implementing 4th party vendors such as Double Verify and Integral Ad Science
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced and evolving environment
• Strong written and oral communication
• Strong quantitative skills, including analytical abilities and math proficiency
• Strategic thinker and problem-solver with a strong ability at multitasking
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team across disciplines
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Excel Formulas knowledge required, PivotTables a plus
• Familiarity with HTML/JavaScript coding preferred
• Exposure to TMS systems like GTM, Tealium, or Ensighten is a plus
