Job Summary/Description:

Live 5 News in gorgeous Charleston, South Carolina is looking for an investigative reporter/ MMJ to join our team. Our next investigative reporter will research, shoot and present investigative news stories both on a short and long term basis. Candidate should be well versed in open records laws, FOIA requests & data analysis. This is not a job for a beginner. The experienced reporter must be a passionate self-starter who is unafraid to ask tough questions and has the ability to turn investigations that are relevant and newsworthy. Candidate should have a proven track record of accountability journalism.

Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Research, shoot, write, and produce ground-breaking investigative news stories
- Generate long and short-term investigative news projects
- Perform computer-assisted reporting research and database analysis
- Contribute research and analysis on major breaking news events
- Provide investigative content across all of Live 5's on-air and digital platforms
- Develop and maintain sources that will generate exclusive reports

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum of two years experience working as an investigative reporter or four years as a General Assignment Reporter with a demonstrated history of turning investigative stories
- Understanding of computer-assisted reporting and working with database and spreadsheet programs
- Willingness to work long hours and various shifts
