Dynamic Captioning LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gray Television. Located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dynamic delivers state of the art closed captioning services to television stations and broadcast facilities throughout the country.

Job Summary/Description:

The IT Technician will provide support to clients and remote caption writers to ensure service obligations, goals and program procedures are met, providing overall assistance as it relates to program coverage, preparation, and transmission of live-display captions and future projects. The role works under the general direction of the Operations Manager. The Information Technology and Broadcast Scheduling Technician is expected to work a non-traditional work week, which will include weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary to meet program coverage commitments. The technician will Diagnose computer and software problems, monitor computer processing systems, install software and perform tests on computer equipment and programs. Set up computer equipment, schedule maintenance, train team members and vendors to use programs, and execute minor repairs. Monitor captioned broadcasts as assigned and troubleshoot issues during live broadcasts as required.

This includes maintaining broadcast protocol regarding ''early check in'', creating daily reports on writer quality and dependability. Scheduling responsibilities including monitoring email and phone calls, scheduling and executing support tickets with writers, clients and team members. Confirming orders with clients via email, assist in entering orders into the web-based scheduling system and assigning writers to programs. Functioning as a liaison between clients and captioning personnel in both technical and scheduling roles.

Qualifications/Requirements:

High School Diploma required. Certificate or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Computer Information Systems required. Familiarity with broadcast television a plus.
