The station serves roughly the western third of Tennessee, northern Mississippi, eastern Arkansas, and the southeastern corner of Missouri over the air, on satellite, and on various cable systems.
Job Description/Summary:
The Broadcast Engineer oversees the day-to-day operations of the Engineering and IT Department of a broadcast TV station. The candidate is responsible for the maintenance of all broadcast technology, equipment, and workflow at station and transmitter facilities as well as acting as EIC for our REMI live sports productions.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Assist with the daily operation of the station, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Monitor multiple air channels and transmitters, maintaining regulatory compliance, and assuring quality control of on-air product
- Oversee IT systems and infrastructure.
- Maintain transmitters, satellite antenna systems, automation, signal distribution, and routing systems.
- Ensure the station is compliant with FCC requirements licensing, and OSHA guidelines.
- Oversee all building maintenance and upkeep items working in consultation with the other departments and vendors.
- Responsible for maintaining equipment for all aspects of on-air products – TV air chain, video editing systems, IT networks, graphic systems, field news gathering equipment, and weather systems.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, broadcast engineering, information technology, or equivalent experience. preferred
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in broadcast engineering, preferred
- Experience with RF technology, video/audio production systems, automation systems, and IT networking a plus
- Candidate must have strong IT and network administration skills and be capable of implementing best practices.
- Strong understanding and experience with live news/sports production, environment, and processes.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining broadcast transmitters, studio equipment, and automation systems.
- Strong knowledge and awareness of FCC regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience with IP-based video/audio transport and streaming technologies
- Experience with computer networking, server management, and IT information security
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure while collaborating with others
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed
- Must be available to support 24/7 operations
