Job Description
As a multi-award-winning creative studio, we've worked with some of the greatest storytellers in cinema today. We collaborate with directors and producers throughout the production process to help them conceive, plan and create beautiful images. We focus on finding innovative creative solutions to support their vision and set new standards for visual effects in cinema.
Reporting to the Head of Environment , the Digital Matte Painter will create photorealistic set extensions.
What you'll do:
• Create digital sets for complex camera projections;
• Take care of all basic color integrations to the plate/environment;
• Carry out tasks and corrections delegated by the supervisor;
• Work closely with different departments to balance needs;
• Create concepts for sequences;
• Deliver the various elements (with exact names) to the compositing department.
Experience and Essential Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of Photoshop, Maya, Nuke and Houdini ;
• Knowledge of film formats and ratio aspects ;
• Experience in 2D techniques, including color space, layer management and compositing delivery;
• Good knowledge of 32-bit digital set creation;
• Proficiency in creating fully realistic, film-quality digital sets;
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with other artists under tight production deadlines;
Experience and Skills Assets:
• An artistic eye for composition and photography and the ability to provide or acquire photographic references ;
• Ability to respond quickly to the needs of the management team and clients;
• Clear knowledge of how to name different elements before delivering them to the compositing team;
• Experience with 3D techniques (modeling, texturing, lighting, etc.).
