FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the US These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.

As a Newscast Writer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting compelling news stories. We value individuals with exceptional news judgment and experience in researching and writing news copy, and a solid grasp of the AP writing style. Additionally, candidates should possess experience in producing live broadcast newscasts on digital or linear platforms, along with a thorough understanding of TV newsroom workflows, deadlines, and production processes.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
• Exceptional writing proficiency in TV news broadcast style
• Strong news judgment and critical thinking skills
• Experience in reporting, researching, and verifying facts
• Proficiency in AP writing style
• Experience producing live broadcast newscasts on digital or linear platforms
• Clear understanding of broadcast production needs
Responsibilities:
As a member of our team, your duties will include supporting multiple newscasts, collaborating with producers and the assignment desk, and working under tight deadlines. This position is ideal for someone seeking writing and producing experience in a top-rated newsroom. The selected candidate will be trained to produce newscasts and will have opportunities to fill in as needed. Please note that only candidates interested in producing will be considered. Other duties will be assigned as deemed appropriate and necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma required; 4-year college degree preferred
Experience with iNews or other newscast software preferred
Comfort with Slack, Outlook, video distribution platforms, social media, online publication systems, Chyron graphics systems preferred
Excellent communication skills required

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $31.35-44.75 per hour for California. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
