JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News is looking for a Freelance Technical Director to contribute to our weekend programming. The Freelance­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­ Technical Director will be in the heart of live breaking news. You will work on a team that ensures all visual elements are seamlessly produced in a high-pressure, 24/7 news environment.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Switch fast-paced productions seen throughout the Fox News networks
• Offer creative suggestions that enhance show productions
• Collaborate with the graphic department and editorial leads as new shows are developed
• Organize and maintain switcher files, visual effects, and other peripheral devices and equipment associated with the TD area
• Demonstrate technical ability to troubleshoot and understand video workflow

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
• 3-5 years of experience as a control room Technical Director in a live news environment
• Knowledge of switchers, DVEs, device controllers, and video server
• Excellent control room demeanor, proven leadership skills, team-first attitude, and the ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility and willingness to work weekends and any shift in a 24-hour time period and breaking news environment
• A desire to learn new technologies, processes, and/or procedures as they are implemented
• A strong interest in current events
• Knowledge of SONY switchers, DNF controllers, Nexio servers, and Ross Overdrive automated production control system

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $50.00-62.50 per hour. We provide medical/dental/vision insurance and 401k after they meet eligibility criteria and any State required time-off, in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
