JOB DESCRIPTION

Join our dynamic and innovative team of media professionals committed to the highest standards of excellence in journalism. As a key member of our production team, you'll have the opportunity to shape the visual storytelling that informs, engages, and entertains our audience.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Video Editor to prepare stellar video sequences for publication on our various newscasts and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Digital Team and Newscast Producers to curate engaging visual content that resonates with our audience.

Key Responsibilities
• Edit video sequences for air under deadline pressure using editing software.
• Utilize software to restore and archive video in long-term storage.
• Update iNews scripts with video sequence timings and cue points for graphics during live newscasts.
• Communicate discrepancies between scripts and edited content to producers and writers.
• Prepare video content for digital and social media platforms, ensuring it captures audience attention.
• Ready file video for use in the field as required.
• Create special report edits for periodic sweeps.
• Occasionally act as Editing Coordinator for newscasts.
• Support Editing Coordinator with taking in feeds and video management before deadlines.
• Operate ENG Receive equipment as necessary.
• Carry out additional tasks as delegated.

Qualifications
• Proven skills in video editing under stringent deadlines.
• Familiar with social media and video clipping for digital platforms.
• Strong organizational and digital file management skills.
• Openness to learning new computer systems and technologies.
• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university is preferred.
• A minimum of two years of experience at a commercial television station as a news video editor is desirable.
