JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Freelance Field/Audio Technician to join our Washington, DC Bureau. As a Freelance Field/Audio Technician, you will be provided countless opportunities to work in the field with photographers, satellite truck operators, engineers, producers, and reporters. You must be prepared to work a flexible schedule, which will include overtime and weekends.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Handle audio tasks within an ENG crew
• Manage single and multiple camera setups for various interview styles, including sit-downs and mobile interviews
• Oversee routing of audio feeds and IFB communications from various sources
• Provide audio support for live broadcasts, accommodating both single and multi-camera configurations
• Be available for extensive, last-minute travel due to breaking news situations

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 5+ years experience in news gathering
• Excellent collaboration skills with a dynamic team
• Eagerness to broaden knowledge across all facets of field production
• Capable of juggling multiple tasks effectively while in the field
• Bringing a broad range of technical television media experience that is adaptable to a high-energy field news gathering context
• Must possess personal audio/sound equipment (a detailed list will be provided during the interview process)
