Senior Newscast Producer (Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth)

WAVY-TV 10/ WVBT FOX43 is searching for a dynamic SENIOR NEWS PRODUCER who wants to lead a top-notch team and tell compelling stories, dominate breaking news and severe weather coverage. You would also work with the best resources in the market, like drones and a full-time news helicopter, while promoting the values of journalism on air, online and to social media all while living close to the beach.

We are looking for someone interested in being a leader and learning from a group of seasoned journalists. Someone who has strong news judgment, is passionate about journalism, and has a proven ability to work with an award-winning team.

The successful candidate must have a demonstrated ability and willingness to produce newscasts with creativity and flair; this includes writing clear, concise copy on deadline, working under pressure, and showcasing great video and emotional sound, and easy to understand graphics. College degree or equivalent experience and 3-5 years mainline news producing experience preferred.
Overnights, nights and weekends may be required; candidate must be willing and able to work any and all shifts, including holidays.
