The Videographer and Lighting Lead will have the primary responsibility of lighting and shooting our in-house Model e training videos. In addition to shooting, this individual will be required to participate in pre-production meetings, creative design meetings, and assist with writing copy. Additionally, this role requires the candidate to be a creative thinker who can generate their own ideas for video content. Some skills essential to this role include being able to light, shoot, and collect sound on video shoots as well as the ability to think outside the box and generate new and exciting ideas. We will request a reel of your work that demonstrates your talents in the areas of shooting, lighting, and sound recording.

The position will report to the Creative Producer who reports to the Director.

This role is based in Detroit, Michigan with domestic relocation benefits provided, as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What you’ll be able to do

  • You will light, shoot and record sound on our Ford Model e training video shoots, both at our in-house production studio and on location, as needed.
  • You will assist in project develop by providing your creative input during creative design meetings.
  • You will own the collection of video and audio design/recording during our learning program shoots.
  • You will provide input on what camera, lighting and sound packages we acquire.

The Person

This candidate will have the opportunity to light and shoot videos for Model e. They will also be able to flex their creative thinking skills by pitching ideas during creative design meetings. The candidate is a highly motivated, self-starter who needs little direction to set up our sets for shoots. They must be a team player who thinks positively, even when hurdles and unexpected obstacles arise. Finally, this candidate has a reel of their work that highlights their skills in lighting, shooting, and sound recording.

QUALIFICATIONS

Functional & Technical Knowledge

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years experience in entertainment/marketing/advertising on-set with shooting, lighting and sound recording.
  • Must have a current reel of your work that demonstrates your abilities to shoot video, light, and record audio.

Preferred Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience lighting, shooting, and recording audio on set and on location
  • The ability to think creatively and offer input
  • A reel that includes nationally shown work (television, web or social)
  • Proficient in MS Office (including Outlook, Word and PowerPoint)
