Independent Contractor - Clothing Design- Fluent Spanish Teaching Artist

EYL 365 Project is looking for qualified Teaching Artists to work with students across a variety of programs. An ideal candidate will be experienced in teaching Clothing Design to groups of children and adults in a school and after-school setting. An ideal candidate is willing to work with the EYL team and schools’ administration to help determine and design art programming that will best fit the needs of the school communities we serve, as well as be able to communicate with Latin populations.

EYL 365 Project is looking for a highly motivated, team-oriented and proactive person who is passionate about working with young people. This position requires someone who has a growth mindset, can-do attitude and is a creative problem solver. Applicants must have flexibility, excellent organization and interpersonal skills, and the ability to foster creativity, collaboration and communication. This position includes a pathway to leadership in EYL through learning more about site management and logistics.

EXPERIENCE NEEDED

• 2 years' experience as a Teaching Artist in their respective art form and expertise, ideally in DMV public schools
• Proficient Google Suite
• Strong Communication
• Hold a strong understanding of arts integration best practices and strategies.
• Focus on the intersection of the arts and Social Emotional Learning/Competencies.
• Possess strong collaboration skills with classroom teachers, other teaching artists, social workers, administrators, etc.
• Have experience lesson planning/creating curriculum for K-12 students.
• Open to feedback and continuous growth
• TA must be vaccinated and can provide proof upon request.
