Job Description
The Digital Video Producer II - Podcast is responsible for content development, production and ad integration for a variety of ESPN audio and video podcasts. They work daily with the podcast leadership team, talent and digital audio/video business stakeholders as well as internal and external distribution partners. They are involved in both short- and long-range content strategy, planning of shows in addition to managing directs and the shows those reports oversee. The Digital Producer communicates daily and weekly expectations and delivers feedback to talent and staff.
Responsibilities:
• Develops, enhances and advances ideas and concepts both in daily productions and for long-term planning. Understands and executes ESPN content priorities in planning episodes and integrating with other ESPN platforms, including the ESPN App and YouTube.
• Has an expertise of production principles designed to drive consumption of podcast downloads and video views.
• Supervises the compiling and editing of materials necessary for production on all relevant platforms. Collaborates with ESPN colleagues in the development of compelling multi-platform content.
• Develops and maintains thorough knowledge of sports stories, trends and newsmakers; identifies and books relevant guests for show appearances.
• Assists in the recruitment and development of guest talent. Develops, provides and sustains editorial guidelines to on-air commentators.
• Works with sales and marketing teams to ensure fit and fulfillment of ad inventory within shows. Develops segments and ideas for sales opportunities.
• Has strong social media/listener engagement skills. Producer will develop overall audience development strategy for shows in concert with the podcast leadership team.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 8 years of experience in podcast, digital or broadcast production
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing a team and direct reports
Preferred Qualifications:
• Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects
• Experience with remote recording software such as Zoom, Squadcast or Riverside
• Experience as a solo field producer
• Experience with DSLR cameras
• Experience in news and journalism
Required Education:
• High School Education

• Undergraduate or graduate degree

The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, California is $101,900 - $137,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
