Job Description
The Associate Manager, Programming is responsible for managing the day-to-day business matters for the NFL and pro football category, and supporting the Vice President and Director, Programming and Acquisitions on all future negotiations; coordination of event management and the implementation of joint initiatives to drive ratings and exposure to the NFL and other assigned categories.

The position will require consistent communication and collaboration with all ESPN departments including Programming colleagues, particularly the Content Strategy & Scheduling and Digital Media teams, Production, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Communications, Research and Legal, as well as interaction with DMED, external rightsholders and industry partners.

The Associate Manager, Programming reports to the Director, Programming and Acquisitions.

Responsibilities:
• Support the Director, Programming & Acquisitions on all business activities, initiatives, and issues for NFL, XFL, action sports and other assigned sport properties.
• Manage all day-to-day aspects and maintain program schedules across linear and digital platforms for NFL, XFL, action sports and other assigned sport properties.
• Assists in the development, implementation and management of ESPN's strategic approach to NFL, XFL, action sports and other assigned sport properties.
• Identifies opportunities to enhance programming across the NFL calendar and key tentpoles to drive further interest, audience and revenue.
• Ensures the fulfillment of contractual obligations for NFL and assigned sports categories.
• Provide support on future acquisitions and for renewals of existing deals.
• Consistent communication and collaboration with several ESPN Departments including, but not limited to: Production, Marketing, Research, Communications, Ad Sales and Finance.
• Effectively synthesizes company-wide cross platform efforts supporting MNF, NFL Draft and other key ESPN NFL priorities. Track and report viewership performance and insights, as directed.
• Provide direction and coordination of daily activities of the Programming Coordinator.
• Monitor the competitive landscape with respect to NFL and media trends and keep the department and company up to speed on important developments.

Qualifications: (required)
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience in sports media industry, production and/or television programming.
• Strong overall sports knowledge, with specific emphasis on the NFL.
• Ability to read and interpret contracts.
• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all working levels.
• Ability to shift focus frequently and manage many projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Content Scheduler system.

Required Education (required)
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Communications, Business, Sports Management, or other related field.
