What We Do

Push your artistic talent to the limit on a team of world-class environment, character and concept artists who strive to innovate and inspire.

What You'll Do

The Walt Disney Company and Epic Games are collaborating on an all-new games and entertainment universe.

In addition to being a world-class games experience, this new persistent universe will offer a multitude of opportunities for consumers to play, watch, and engage with content, characters, and stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar, and more.

Players, gamers, and fans of all kinds will be able to create their own stories and experiences, express their fandom in a distinctly Disney way, and share content with each other in ways that they love. Come join us in creating the future of interactive entertainment.

Epic Games is searching for an Environment Texture Artist to work on several initiatives as part of our collaboration with Disney. You will work directly with a world-class art team to help create exciting and compelling environments that will invite the player to discover and explore. In this role you will create top-quality textures and materials for use in gameplay, cinematics, and marketing material. We are looking for a candidate who has experience with stylized textures and materials in a PBR setting. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the visual style of the environment as part of building a rich and engaging interactive world.

In this role, you will
• Create textures and materials for environment assets, props and foliage based on concept art and reference photos
• Collaborate with the Art Director and the environment team, and be able to give and receive feedback
• Texture environments in a variety of styles. You will primarily be working with stylized environments and props, but should be comfortable doing photo-realistic work when needed
• Build materials and develop the look and surface quality of environments in different styles
• Work with teams across different disciplines creating content for multiple platforms
• Be forward-thinking and have the ability to help the team define and shape proficient pipeline workflows

What we're looking for
• Experience working on AAA games for console, PC, and/or mobile, including a strong reel/portfolio showing executed game textures and shading
• Intimate knowledge of color theory, PBR lighting, and stylized texturing techniques
• Experience with custom hand painted textures, trim sheets and repeating textures
• Technical expertise in baking maps for low poly models to create mobile-friendly assets
• Expert proficiency in Substance Painter/Designer and Photoshop
• Experience creating and editing materials in UE
• Understanding of memory and performance constraints, optimizing textures while maintaining high quality
• Excellent communicator and collaborator with strong understanding of real time workflows and upstream/downstream dependencies
• Complex, technical shader knowledge and background is a plus
