QUALITY ASSURANCE

What We Do

The Quality Assurance team owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all products and functions across Epic. Our team works closely with developers and production to ensure the best possible user experience for our community and customers.

What You'll Do

We're looking for a Software Tester to join the Epic QA team. You'll love this role if you're an innovative problem-solver who loves to ask the tough questions or solution designer who wants to make sure software maintains a high quality standard; you should be willing and excited to constantly learn and grow in this quickly evolving area.

In this role, you will
• Engage with developers on day-to-day test needs during active development cycles
• Collaborate with embedded QA owners on the creation and maintenance of test cases
• Thoroughly investigate, analyze issues to find root causes, and communicate and escalate defects found
• Provide reporting on blocking issues, testing results, and quality status to the development team, and facilitate discussion around corresponding risk areas
• Write clear and concise steps to reproduce issues in bug reports and review and guide your peers in maintaining Epic's bugging standards
• Apply familiarity with features and knowledge of video game player behavior to uncover issues and inefficiencies

What we're looking for
• Established understanding of test methodologies and iterative development
• Technical software or troubleshooting skills (degree in Computer Science or equivalent, self-taught, or relevant experience)
• Experience in Functional and Usability Testing in your domain of expertise
• Experience with Consoles, Mobile Devices, browser-based web tools, and/or VR hardware
• Knowledge in one or more of these areas: Game Engines or 3D Software toolsets Backend servers and APIs Games as a Service model development
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exposure to the software development life cycle and how testing applies
• Employees will be required to be within commutable distance to the assigned office or studio as regular in-person attendance is an essential function of this position
