What We Do
The Quality Assurance team owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all products and functions across Epic. Our team works closely with developers and production to ensure the best possible user experience for our community and customers.
What You'll Do
We're looking for a Game Tester to join the Fortnite Battle Royale Map Team. Our team creates coverage for and tests the BR map: locations, interactions, integrations, and visual quality across platforms. You'll love this role if you enjoy problem-solving, teamwork, and creating test coverage from written plans, working both in-game and in Unreal Editor.
In this role, you will
• Execute test cases with attention to detail both in and outside of the map area
• Thoroughly investigate and analyze issues to help find root causes
• Provide map specific insight and expertise to test nuances of the map
• Develop and execute tests autonomously inside the map space
• Create tests from written test plans and escalate quality concerns to stakeholders
• Self-prioritize day-to-day work
What we're looking for
• Technical software and troubleshooting skills
• 2+ years of testing experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Expertise logging and defining defects in bug tracking databases
• Experience working with multiple disciplines in a delivery environment
• Experience testing within an embedded QA team
• Proficiency in time management
• Familiarity with creating or executing testing on current gaming platforms
• Exposure to live service games and how testing applies to the delivery of that service
• Familiarity or prior use of Game Engines such as Unreal, Unity, etc
