What You'll Do

We're looking for someone with a passion for real-time rendering to join the industry-leading Unreal Engine team to focus on our rendering systems and workflows that power next-generation console & mobile games, and cinematic quality visuals. This means being hands-on in the development process of all aspects of the engine's lighting & rendering pipeline available to programmers and artists to continue to build first class tools and workflow for game development. This includes but is not limited to, Lumen Global Illumination, Nanite virtualized geometry, material editing and performance optimizations for authoring interactive real-time experiences that scale across all platforms.

In this role, you will
• Drive product initiatives with minimal direction/supervision
• Engage with our internal Epic Games production teams and external users to understand their needs and requirements
• Ensure our tools are best in class and meet our user expectations by regularly using, reviewing and critiquing new features and prototypes and validating them directly with our users
• Partner with Engineering and UX teams to design workflows, and build valuable well thought out solutions
• Apply principles, standards and best practices within the subject matter area to influence product deliverables and manage the product roadmap
• Work with our marketing and sales teams to help them explain what problems we are solving and the value for our users

What we're looking for
• 5+ years of technical experience in the 3D rendering field (e.g. Technical Artist, developer or equivalent) working with exceptional engineering talent
• Subject matter expertise in real-time 3D lighting & rendering workflows for games and the ability to teach those workflows to others
• Someone that can be the voice of our users, and think in both near-term (tactics) and long-term (strategy)
• Drive alignment with clever, thoughtful, and kind people as a team
• Excellent communication, and relationship-building skills
• Comfortable with change, managing complex tasks and adaptable to project scope
