Epic Games is searching for a highly talented and creative Senior Environment Artist to join our team in building memorable environment assets and props for our collaboration with Disney. The ideal candidate will have a strong artistic ability, bringing with them a solid understanding of form, function, detail, and the ability to interpret concept art, plus the technical skills to bring their work to life in Unreal Engine 5. We are looking for versatile artists who can build ideally both organic and hard surface assets. In this role, you will
• Own and deliver large and complex areas of game environments
• Model and texture a wide variety of props/assets, adhering to the art direction of the game while considering technical constraints
• Creatively model from rudimentary or unfinished concepts, showing an understanding of the goals of the design, to final, production-ready models
• Create solid, high-fidelity textures of any given surface
• Some environment layout in-engine, but primarily a DCC-driven role
• Be a major driver and voice in cross-discipline visual development
• Scope, plan, and time cost out deliverables and create documentation to support visual direction

What we're looking for
• At least 3 published titles and a strong portfolio displaying environment work across AAA, large-scale games
• Highly skilled in relevant software; 3DS Max, Maya, Photoshop, Zbrush, Substance, etc
• Strong experience with Unreal Engine preferred; proprietary or Unity experience is acceptable
• Proven experience in full-game development cycles from concept to fruition
• Technical expertise in low poly modeling and baking to create mobile-friendly assets
• Great texturing skills and experience with PBR & materials
• Knowledge of real-time engine budgets and optimizations
• Ability to take 2D concept art to completion
• Ability to provide feedback to outsourcers
• Complex, technical shader knowledge is a plus
