What You'll Do
Epic is looking for a talented Senior Concept Artist to help us continue to shape the future of Fortnite. As a Senior Concept Artist, you will work with the development teams to create memorable and compelling characters that exude personality and style. You will use your artistic expertise in color, composition, shape, and visual design to help push our iconic visual style. Your craft expertise in character design will provide the inspiration to continue pushing the boundaries of what Fortnite means to our players.
In this role, you will
• Collaborate closely with the Art Directors and core development team to drive and visualize different types of content across the Fortnite universe
• Produce unique, memorable, and compelling characters that fit the Fortnite style
• Create character designs in a variety of body shapes, race, and aesthetics
• Based on visual direction from the Art Director, collaborate on the visual style and ensure our designs are of Epic quality bar create and iterate unique and stunning designs within a determined production schedule
• Provide timely & detailed feedback for the concept art team and outsourcing vendors
• Coordinate with other art, design, and production teams to help accomplish the goals of the product
What we're looking for
• 7 + years experience in the game industry working in AAA game development
• Worked on at least one AAA game in a Senior/Principal Concept Artist role
• A portfolio that demonstrates a range of styles, creativity, and craftsmanship
• Excellent traditional artistic skills with a strong grasp of composition, anatomy, color theory, perspective, lighting, environment, architectural, character, costume and graphic design
• Effective leader, collaborator, and problem solver able to coordinate with internal and external teams
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to accurately estimate tasks and maintain schedules
• Strong communication skills and understanding of various art disciplines (animation, character, environment, VFX)

This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including CA & WA).
Pay Transparency Information
The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren't limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic's generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
California Base Pay Range
$155,111 — $277,495 USD
Washington Base Pay Range
$148,060 — $217,154 USD
