What We Do

The Quality Assurance team owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all products and functions across Epic. Our team works closely with developers and production to ensure the best possible user experience for our community and customers.

What You'll Do

Epic Games is looking to significantly expand its internal full-time Quality Assurance team. We are looking for serious QA professionals with wide ranging skills and experience who want to work embedded on a development team. This position owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of a given feature, function or set of work, where you will be part of a rapidly iterating development team working closely with professional and highly technical developers. In this role, you will
• Create test strategies and and address technical gaps for multiple features in a dynamic, fast-paced environment across a distributed team to deliver the highest quality product utilizing a mix of manual and technical testing skills
• Work with product owners, developers and QA management to define and identify requirements and acceptance criteria, anticipate risks, and plan testing coverage for upcoming and existing features/releases
• Report and track for feature status and quality on delivery, and use that data to drive conversations around risk, product quality and development health
• Develop and implement automated test cases and debug issues across clients and hardware to ensure comprehensive impact analysis
• Generate analysis of outstanding defects, recommend new testing areas, and prioritize fixes
• Report and track data quality to drive discussions around product quality and development health, support developers before, during, and after deployments, and manage incoming defects autonomously
• Identify QA craft, development or testing problems and develop solutions to address these problems with semi permanent solutions

What we're looking for
• 5+ years of software testing experience in a fast-paced gaming environment
• Programming or scripting skills such as C++/C#/Python/Javascript
• Problem solving experience especially in technical environments utilizing debugging tools and IDEs (Visual Studio, XCode, etc.) to investigate and report on results
• Ability to prioritize and execute while working in a fast-paced working environment with the ability to juggle multiple projects
• Ability to confidently collaborate with senior members on technical topics and features
• Ability to assess scope and requirements and help drive project timeline/milestones/plans
• Must have a strong background in reporting and tracking for data quality
• Technical understanding of web, mobile, XR, or game technologies, including automation,functional, qualitative, and performance against consistently iterative development and cross functional feature development
• Background in games, entertainment, or a rapidly evolving tech industry is required

Nice to have skills
• Experience with Unreal Engine and Blueprints
• Prior experience with audio software
• Musical background
• Experience playing or working on rhythm-based games
