What You'll Do

Epic is looking for a passionate Lead Technical UI Designer to work on Fortnite Festival. In this position, you will lead and manage a team of Technical UI designers (2–6) working on major music experiences at Epic. You will guide your team to build well thought out features and systems using Unreal Engine, UMG, Blueprints, and view models. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ship features to millions of players around the world.

In this role, you will
• Lead a team of Tech UI designers working on music experiences; work collaboratively across multiple teams to create consistency
• Set up a culture of mentorship and excellence within the Tech UI design craft
• Collaborate with other UX/UI leads to ensure great communication is happening and stronger cross-team relationships are built
• Establish best practices and procedures for Tech UI Design
• Help build tools and systems that will help clear up UI tech debt, make it easier and faster to ship UI, and level up the UI overall

What we're looking for
• A service-oriented, compassionate leader
• Experience managing a team of 2–6 people or equivalent training
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills experience presenting to other team members and stakeholders
• Professional engine experience (Custom engine, Unity, UE4, Lumberyard, Snowdrop, etc.), and have game industry 3D-package experience (3D Studio, Maya, etc.)
• Experience in visual or scripting languages such as Lua, Blueprints, etc
• Experience hiring and managing teams
• Ability to identify issues and solve them within extremely complex problem spaces
• Passion for music

Pay Transparency Information

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren't limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic's generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

Washington Base Pay Range

$173,970 — $250,156 USD
