What We Do
The Epic Trust and Safety team provides a safer experience for Epic users. We work across multiple products and services to improve technology and craft transparent policies so our players and users can have positive experiences on our platforms.
What You'll Do
Epic Games is looking for a Full-Stack Programmer to support our Trust & Safety tools and services. Our team builds solutions that prevent the spread of harmful content, enforce our community guidelines, and analyze user reports. As a direct contributor to these systems, you will have the opportunity to improve the safety of hundreds of millions of players around the world. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable developing web applications using React and Go in a microservice environment and can work well with internal and external product development teams.
In this role, you will
• Design and implement new features in our various React/Go web applications
• Experiment with new technologies to improve the accuracy and efficiency of our proactive content screening and user report processing pipelines
• Partner with stakeholders and internal product teams to integrate the trust and safety systems into their workflows
• Collaborate with programmers, data scientists, and other developers to identify new threats and integrate with new workflows and products
What we're looking for
• Experience programming front-end applications with modern frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, etc. (React is common at Epic Games)
• Experience developing web APIs and using at least one of the following languages: Go, C++, C#, Python, or JavaScript/Node.js
• 4+ years of experience crafting secure, scalable, and highly available web applications and services
• Experience programming back-end web services in Go or a similar language
• Experience with cloud technologies (we use AWS)
• Demonstrated understanding of relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience monitoring and managing databases (we use Elasticsearch/MongoDB/PostgreSQL)
• Experience building event-driven systems
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and design patterns
• Effective communication skills
This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including CA).

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren't limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic's generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
California Base Pay Range
$138,293 — $202,829 USD
