What We Do

Driving the plug-in power behind Unreal Engine 5. We bridge connections for licensees and our own internal game teams to online services. This allows games like Fortnite to utilize a combination of platform online services as well as Epic's own online services to build cross-platform online features. Login, parties, voice chat, matchmaking, purchasing, cloud storage, and analytics are just a few examples of online features that our Online Game Services team helps games utilize.

What You'll Do

As the KWS team has grown, we need to add an Engineering Lead to take responsibility for our Data Engineering and Developer Experience teams within KWS. These two teams have existed separately, but as part of hiring this role, we are bringing them together under one Engineering Lead.

In this role, you will
• Be the lead for a number of engineers in the KWS teams
• Take on management responsibilities for contract engineers working in the teams
• Provide leadership to the KWS Data Engineering and Developer Experience teams
• Form part of KWS leadership, working on cross-team issues with your peers
• Form a close team with the other two engineering leads in KWS to lead the team's day-to-day work
• Work closely with other teams across Epic
• Work with the KWS Engineering Director to develop the future structure of KWS teams and be involved in the detailed technical work of both teams

What we're looking for
• Technical experience sufficient to lead the team and help out with hands-on work
• Some experience with Data Engineering would be desirable
• Experience successfully leading small teams
• Ability to balance technical work with the requirements of being a lead
• A collaborative and open-minded approach to working with others across the team
• Enthusiasm for kids' safety online!
