PUBLIC POLICY

What We Do

The Epic Games Global Public Policy team helps build relationships with policymakers, trade groups, and advocates at the local, national and regional levels. They identify, monitor, analyze, and prioritize policy trends, legislative proposals, and industry issues important to Epic. The Public Policy team resides within Epic's Global Affairs function and closely partners with legal, product and executive teams to develop the company's policy positions and strategy.

What You'll Do

Epic is looking for a Public Policy Director to build strategic relationships with government officials in the UK and across continental Europe, with a focus on the European Commission and influential member states. The Director will engage with UK and European policymakers and stakeholders to support Epic's business and policy goals to promote an open and innovative creator and developer community while creating fun and inclusive experiences for players. The Director of Public Policy Engagement will be responsible for maintaining strong ties with European Commission officials in Brussels, as well as expanding government, trade, and civil society relationships in Sweden where Epic has significant policy and business development interests.

In this role, you will
• Monitor policy and political trends in the European Union and develop engagement recommendations to share with Epic teams
• Partner with public policy colleagues to identify opportunities and risks in Europe with respect to core policy priorities such as competition and online safety
• Partner with public policy and communications team colleagues to develop and execute public affairs outreach in the UK and Europe, with an emphasis on stakeholders and relationship building in Sweden
• Develop external narratives and talking points, organize briefings and strategic programs that support Epic's policy efforts
• Engage with local trade associations to advance Epic's policy positions with the broader industry

What we're looking for
• Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree in law, policy, or other relevant discipline preferred
• 10+ years of experience in public policy or government relations in Europe
• Experience working within governments, think tanks, public interest groups, industry trade groups and/or relevant corporations
• Track record of successful execution; ability to help develop and implement programs and processes
• Forward-thinking and strategic approach to engaging with government and other policy stakeholders
• A thoughtful team player who can collaborate cross-functionally to understand business goals, and identify global legislative and regulatory opportunities and risks
• Openness to frequent travel
