Technical Lead, Saudi Pro League (KSA)

The Partnership between SPL, SAFF, and IMG:

The Saudi Pro League (SPL) and Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) have announced a new five-year production partnership with IMG, a global sports, events, and representation company, for the Roshn Saudi League (RSL), King's Cup, and Saudi Super Cup, starting from the 2024-25 season.

The 2024-25 season broadcast of the RSL, King's Cup, and Saudi Super Cup will feature more dynamic storytelling and captivating content that highlights the excitement of the matches and celebrates the rich culture and passion that drive the sport.

IMG will also help SPL and SAFF to implement advanced remote production technologies, allowing leading producers to oversee matches across multiple cities on the same day, ensuring that the highest production standards are maintained regardless of location.

What You'll Do:

As the regional Technical Lead for the Saudi Pro League, you will be responsible for all aspects of the technical delivery of the outside broadcasts. You will be the point of contact for the facilities company, produce relevant documentation and schematics, attend reces and manage the freelance Technical Producers.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a long-term fixed-term contract dependent on local employment regulations based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. You will be required to travel within KSA when required, as well as work weekends and unsocial hours when needed.

This position will include a relocation package.

Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:
• Work with the Technical Team to deliver live broadcasts in the region, ensuring the best technical solution based on production requirements and budget.
• Central point of proactive fault resolution and QC overview
• Engage with the contracted companies (Alamiya, Eurovision, AE) to ensure the right facilities and crew, to best facilitate production requirements.
• Produce relevant technical documentation and drawing, both day to day and for the long term improvement of facilities.
• Work with the SPL and our contracted suppliers to define end to end technical broadcast solutions for live production,
• Be the regional technical point of contact for production on live events to ensure the safe delivery of productions.
• Attend match rounds to ensure consistency and quality of delivery is maintained
• Attend recces where technical input is required.
• Attend post match wrap up meetings ensuring accurate reporting and follow-up
• You may also be required to carry out any other duties which are within the scope and purpose of the job.

You Will Have The Following Strengths:
• Experience in technical planning of live events essential.
• Experience of being an onsite technical producer on a range of events using differing workflows; onsite, remote, etc.
• An understanding of broadcast technologies, including OB and remote workflows, UHD HDR, and delivery methods such as satellite and fibre.
• Good understanding on TV technical and production techniques

• Understanding of platform technologies
• Strong market knowledge
• Sound commercial skills with an ability to match editorial and commercial objectives.
• Ability to deliver against challenging deadlines
• Facilitate and deliver change management
• Experience of managing key client relationships at a senior level
• An in-depth knowledge of production market trends, both in sport and non-sport
• Fluency in Arabic is highly advantageous, but not essential
