Associate Producer

I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

In collaboration with the Senior Producer, this position requires producing and editing capabilities and is responsible for crafting compelling and entertaining video content. The ideal candidate will help execute on all pre and post production for Entertainment Weekly video shoots. You should be passionate about all things pop culture and have a familiarity of the celebrity space.

The person in this role should be able to pitch creative ideas in a collaborative environment and see them through from concept to execution. It is important for this person to be social media–savvy and understand how and why people view and share videos online. The position will involve working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Must be able to work with the Senior Producer to ensure content is on schedule, on budget, and delivered to the requisite level of quality.

70% Produce and edit digital videos, from concept to delivery.

20% Meaningfully participate in creative brainstorms for new content and series, social media campaigns, and sponsorship initiatives.

10% Other duties as assigned.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism, communications, marketing, film/TV or related field or equivalent training and/or experience.

Experience:

Minimum 1-3 years experience, with at least 1 year in a digital video role.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of entertainment, pop culture, and the EW brand
• Adobe Premiere editing experience and basic Photoshop is required.
• Must have editing experience and basic camera skills.
• Must have a love for digital video and an eye on trends in the industry.
• Must be able to communicate effectively - verbally, in writing, and in person.
• Ability to work well with team members in a creative, collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to multitask and manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
• Must be flexible regarding work schedules and working on offsite locations when necessary.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google docs.
• Must be highly organized with excellent follow-through.
• Attention to detail and a self-starter is a must.

% Travel Required (Approximate): not anticipated, but may be assigned

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $62,400.00 - $67,000.00
