Vice President, International Content (Disney Entertainment Television)

Disney Entertainment Television is seeking a Vice President, International Content for the Global Original Television Strategy Group. This VP will work directly with regional teams across Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Latin America, India, and Canada to create local content for Disney+. This role will partner closely with the International Television Strategy & Operations team which manages and executes a unified global streaming programming strategy for Disney Entertainment Television.

Responsibilities include:
• Collaborate with the EVP of International Original Television and the International regional teams to help build out and execute the creative strategy to significantly grow compelling and on-brand international content.
• From a creative standpoint, partner with the International creative teams to review market materials, development slates and pilots to ensure alignment with the creative vision.
• Provide creative notes and feedback on outlines, scripts, and cuts.
• Partner with international and studio partners on problem solving of creative and production issues.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key talent as appropriate with a focus on identifying creators and showrunners of the future and actively pursuing new business and projects.
• Manage and mentor the International Original Television team members in Burbank for the Global Original Television Strategy Group.

Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years experience working as a development or current series executive at a network, studio, streamer or production company.
• Strategic and creative minded with a track record of developing commercially successful and/or critically acclaimed original series – ideally for international audiences.
• Deep understanding of the scripted series development and production processes.
• A commercial creative sensibility and understanding of how international content is expressed across multiple viewing platforms.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the international content market and audiences
• Management skills grounded in collaboration, transparency and accountability.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• A self-starter, who is assertive, enthusiastic, and highly motivated.
• Regular travel to international regions

Education:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in California is $208,000 to $279,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
