About the Role & Team

Disney's Direct to Consumer (DTC) team oversees the Hulu and Disney+ streaming businesses within Disney Entertainment, helping to bring The Walt Disney Company's best-in-class storytelling to fans and families everywhere.

The Disney+ Global Subscriber Engagement and Content Programming team is responsible for leading content planning, scheduling, on-service merchandising, slate management, and programming insights that contribute to a cohesive strategic content approach for the service.

What You'll Do

Disney's Global Content Programming team is looking for a Sr. Manager, Content Programming (Content Promos) to lead efforts in supporting our business and editorial priorities, aiming to achieve engagement objectives across Disney+ and Hulu, with a focus on driving video content promotions for both platforms.

As the Senior Manager, you will lead a team of Content Programmers dedicated to creating and executing impactful instream video campaigns and promotions.

The ideal candidate is an experienced cross-functional leader with a proven track record in managing fast-paced, high-performing teams. Familiarity with promotional videos, content management systems, project management tools, and live event programming is essential.

Responsibilities
• Team Leadership: Oversee, develop, and manage the team responsible for Content Promotions across Hulu and Disney+, ensuring they effectively meet the needs of our viewers and align with business goals.
• Editorial Management: Manage the editorial campaign calendar and programming strategies to identify optimization opportunities and drive meaningful growth and engagement across the platforms.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with insights, data, and analytics teams to design experiments, collect data, and measure campaign effectiveness.
• Campaign Development: Contribute to title campaign ideation, planning, tracking, and communication across teams and the broader organization, focusing on leveraging video promotions to expand audiences.
• Prioritization and Strategy: Guide title prioritization and targeting strategies while effectively managing a high volume of concurrent priorities.
• Process Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of team processes, workflows, strategies, and performance results.
• Event Coverage: Be available to cover evening and weekend programming events as needed.
• Global Collaboration: Collaborate with leaders from the Hulu and Disney+ Content Programming teams worldwide to shape the overall DTC programming strategy.

Required Qualifications & Skills
• Minimum of 8 years in content programming, curation, audience development, and/or streaming television.
• People Management: Minimum of 2 years of experience leading and managing a team effectively.
• Proven track record of successfully growing diverse audiences across various platforms.
• Track record of creating curating experiences that drive user engagement, retention, and growth
• Proficient in digital media publishing with hands-on experience using a consumer-facing CMS across web, app, streaming, or connected devices.
• Familiar with using data analysis tools such as Tableau, Looker, Conviva, Excel, Google Sheets, and Airtable to drive informed decision-making and enhance insights.
• Strong communication skills with experience presenting to large groups.
• Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to follow-through.
• Quick learner with strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adapting priorities seamlessly and maintaining composure under pressure.
• Proven track record of effectively collaborating with teams across a global organization to achieve common goals.
• Passionate about TV, movies, pop culture, sports, and news.

Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in the streaming/SVOD.
• Global Content Programming leadership experience.

Required Education
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a related field or equivalent years of experience.

Additional Information
• This role is based out of the Glendale office 4 days a week.
• Must be available to cover evening and weekend programming events as needed to ensure smooth operations.

The hiring range for this position in CA is $124,900.00 to $167,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
