About the Role & Team

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team, focusing on building and maintaining our data infrastructure. You will be developing and implementing software solutions to automate, enhance, and support our data platform, primarily leveraging Snowflake and cloud technologies. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in software engineering, cloud data platforms, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation, while contributing to a robust, scalable, and secure data ecosystem.

What You Will Do
• Develop and maintain software solutions using Python to automate and enhance the management of the Snowflake data platform, including user access, permissions, and resource utilization
• Build and improve integrations between Snowflake and other systems using Python, APIs, and Snowflake connectors, focusing on robustness and maintainability.
• Contribute to the implementation and management of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform, focusing on automating the deployment and scaling of data infrastructure components.
• Collaborate with the team to design and implement data models, applying software engineering principles to ensure database schema design is scalable and maintainable.
• Develop and maintain software components that enforce data security and compliance with organizational policies, integrating with existing security infrastructure

Required Qualifications & Skills
• Basic understanding of database technology, including relational databases and SQL
• Hands-on experience with Python for scripting and automation
• Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, especially Terraform
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Effective communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with Git for version control
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with Snowflake, including its architecture and key features
• Master's Degree in Computer Science
• Professional programming and design experience preferred

Education
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $95,300 to $127,800 per year, in San Francisco, CA is $104,400 to $140,000 per year, in Seattle, WA is $99,900 to $133,900 per year, and in New York, NY is $99,900 to $133,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
