Job Description
Hulu's Consumer and Market Insights (CMI) team seeks a Senior Social Insights Manager who specializes in translating social data into actionable insights and is an impactful storyteller with a passion for entertainment, social media, and pop culture. In this role, your technical experience and natural curiosity will help uncover and creatively analyze the impact of business initiatives, guide social strategies, and identify trends and marketing or cultural opportunities for Hulu. Using the industry's leading social media listening and analytics tools, you will craft insightful analysis using data from social media conversations, campaigns, and habits to drive the business forward. You will have the opportunity to help shape the Social Insights team as it strives to innovate, make impact, and push the boundaries of its applications across the organization.
The right person for this role is fascinated by the cultural zeitgeist, comfortable analyzing large data sets to tell a cohesive story, and energized by communicating their findings through written reports or discussion forums. They will be a pro at balancing and prioritizing multiple sophisticated projects simultaneously, and be adept at pivoting in times of need. They will also have expertise in these critical areas: social media listening and monitoring, social measurement, influencer identification, campaign evaluation, competitive research, and strategic storytelling with data. This position will be on-site and based in our Santa Monica, CA office.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Conduct in-depth analyses of social media data, identifying trends, sentiment, and consumer insights relevant to Hulu, industry, competitors, and target audiences.
• Design projects and provide actionable recommendations with minimal supervision to inform strategies, content creation, and product development.
• Build cross-functional partnerships across the organization (i.e Brand, Originals, Product, etc.) to understand their challenges and priorities, ensure that social data is used effectively throughout the business, and become a trusted advisor.
• Proactively identify gaps in knowledge, opportunities for optimizations, and make strategic recommendations for stakeholders with the ability to pivot to address resource and organizational challenges.
• Establish measurement frameworks and benchmarking systems to assess the effectiveness and impact of brand, originals, partnership, etc. campaigns.
• Identify, recommend, and implement ways to improve the efficiency of Hulu's social data collection and measurement systems and reporting processes.
• Coordinate and act as a project manager with external vendors to ensure the execution of custom projects meets team and stakeholder expectations.
• Create educational materials designed to help social managers effectively use social listening and analytics tools and understand measurement techniques to guide their own work and reporting needs.
• Provide thought leadership and guidance on emerging trends, shifts in digital behavior, and best practices in social media analytics and consumer insights.
• Stay on top of streaming, television, OTT, and social media news, trends, and tools.
WHAT TO BRING
• 6+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA) preferably within the media and entertainment industry
• Proficiency with social listening (e.g. NetBase, BrandWatch, Meltwater, Infegy, etc.) and analytics tools (i.e. ListenFirst, Sprinklr, Dash Hudson, etc.), methodologies, and their applications
• Experience executing social listening projects from start to finish, including writing and reviewing Boolean queries and analyzing outputs in relevant software
• Strong familiarity and understanding of social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, YouTube, TikTok and the consumer behaviors attached to them
• Ability to turn data into meaningful takeaways, identify the ''so what'' around business impact, and present those learnings
• Strategic problem-solver with strong attention to detail and project management skills
• Expertise in suite of tools accessible via Microsoft and Google Workspaces
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• A mix of agency, vendor, and client-side insights and social marketing experience
• Experience at a Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) streaming service or a research company working with a DTC streaming service
• Experience with primary research methodologies and analysis

The hiring range for this position in CA is $111,000.00 to $152,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
