The work we do has a huge impact – Disney Streaming enables experiences for over 196 million users globally across Disney+, Hulu, Star+ and ESPN+. And we're just getting started.

We are looking for a senior product manager who will shape the strategy for one of our key personalization products. These algorithms are woven throughout the different Disney streaming applications and are core to the magic we create for users. This senior product leader will drive the strategy and execution of problem spaces such as: helping a subscriber discover a new genre they might not have considered before, surface content they might want to watch again, or figuring out how to recommend live, ephemeral content in real-time.

Whether it's solving for specific user cohorts or experimenting with cutting-edge machine learning, this is a position that will have an incredibly broad impact on the customer experience as well as the Disney Streaming business.
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in ambiguity and has a proven track record of owning the product strategy and roadmap for a complex machine learning problem space. You should be able to balance pragmatism and product intuition to achieve meaningful results amongst a rapidly growing and increasingly diverse user base.

Responsibilities:
• Own the strategy and roadmap for a set of Personalization products by understanding our subscribers' and Disney's needs across a deep content catalog, increasingly diverse subscriber base and broader Disney ecosystem
• Establish and execute a long-term product strategy and roadmap across our Disney+, Hulu, Star+, and ESPN+ products
• Partner closely with Engineering, Content Programming, Machine Learning, Data Analytics and Experimentation Platform teams to deliver personalization features
• Serve as a thought leader in the personalization and recommendations space, advocating for best practices and sharing learning across the organization.
• Deliver business impact through our personalization products. We are a team that can (and does) nerd out about algorithms but also land huge business impacts such as increasing subscriber engagement and retention
• Pitch and assess new initiatives with the critical lens of an investor. We have limited bandwidth and plenty of opportunities to improve. What do we do first?

Basic Qualifications:

Who You Are:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a product manager or highly relevant experience
• Experience launching consumer products to millions of users with multiple cross-team dependencies
• Data-focused mindset and proven ability to use data to explore all aspects of a problem and analyze solutions
• Systems thinker - proactive, structured, long-term thinker rather than reactive
• Familiarity with machine learning fundamentals, experience working closely with a machine learning engineering team
• Clear, logical communication skills and an ability to adjust your style based upon your audience -- from non-technical stakeholders to research scientists
• Passion for media & entertainment
• Intellectual curiosity -- in this fast-evolving space, we often find ourselves reading the latest research paper or playing with a new proof-of-concept.
• Familiar with A/B experimentation methods and hypothesis-driven product development
• Excellent presentation skills and clear, logical communication of product strategy, roadmap, and technical concepts to engineering as well as leadership

This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely. A remote opportunity may be possible for qualified candidates under certain circumstances and, if granted, the employee would work remotely on an ongoing basis.
