Scripted Manager (Fixed Term Contract - 12 months)
Job Summary
We are looking for a Manager, Scripted to join the Regional Original Productions team at Disney+ EMEA. The regional scripted team commissions original drama and comedy series for Disney+ in the UK and Ireland, with additional oversight of all scripted originals from EMEA. Series to date include Rivals, Shardlake, Extraordinary, The Full Monty and A Thousand Blows.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Scripted, this role offers editorial and production support on original scripted entertainment across EMEA. The successful candidate will support and lead creative (incl. writing, talent, editorial, production) for greenlit productions as well as ongoing development, and will work closely with regional teams on ensuring local productions meet business and creative objectives.
This is an office-based role. 4 days working in the Hammersmith, London office with 1 day working from home (Monday or Friday).
The Opportunity & Responsibilities:
• Develop and support local original scripted television for Disney+
• Provide editorial and production support for local markets across EMEA
• Build strong working relationships with local teams, producers and creators
• Collaborate with other TWDC departments such as Finance, Production Management, Marketing, and PR to ensure an efficient flow of information on series in production and development
The Experience We Require From You
• Proven scripted editorial and production experience on high end TV series
• Strong creative and editorial with an understanding of commissioning
• Strong and established relationships within the industry
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Clear-thinking, straightforward approach to creative problem-solving and decision making
• Strong ability to build working relationships with other Disney departments and executives, and with external partners
• Detailed working knowledge of both scripted entertainment development and production processes
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
