Do you remember seeing ads for Deadpool and Wolverine this past summer? What about Moana 2 during Thanksgiving? Or Andor: Season 2 in the past few weeks? (coming to Disney+ in April!) If you did, it was likely because the detailed planning and execution of The Walt Disney Studios Media and Marketing team…and if you didn't – it's probably because our targeting is that good.

We are looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to join the Performance Marketing arm of this media team. We are an integrated, cross-functional team of marketers, software engineers, data scientists, and analysts who help the Media team execute highly data-driven marketing campaigns for theatrical, streaming, and brand campaigns.

As a Manager, Software Engineering, you will manage a small group of excellent engineers and act as a ''player/coach'' as we build out our technology portfolio: innovative campaign planning tools, complex data science workflows running every day in production (without fail), and elegant web applications that blend the art of advertising at Disney with the science of our data-backed insights.

This role is unique – our team is embedded directly within the Disney marketing organization. We're aligned and mission-driven, with the freedom to move fast and innovate to achieve our goals. You'll tackle the challenges of executing a precise paid media strategy, using the latest technologies and tools in the data/tech space. What You Will Do
• Lead a team of data-driven software engineers; drive process improvement, mentorship, and effective team culture
• Balance leadership with technical contributions; be hands-on with the design and implementation of tools that support the media-buying teams
• Create tooling and applications that can dynamically manage campaign strategy configurations in a variety of social and digital platforms
• Implement front-end data visualizations and process workflows that facilitate the execution of data-driven media campaigns
• Collaborate with the broader team of data and media/marketing experts to rapidly iterate from prototypes to high-quality, production pipelines
• Implement quality controls, monitoring, and other safeguards to ensure optimizations are accurately and safely applied to in-flight ad campaigns and key business metrics are always presented accurately

Required Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of related work experience
• Proven experience developing full-stack applications and services, as well as popular frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Spring Boot).
• Experience with data-rich environments and a fluency with Python, Spark, and SQL
• Understanding of cloud compute (AWS, BigQuery) and modern dev ops practices; experience crafting and owning CI/CD pipelines for applications
• Ability to dive deep into any technical component as well as understand and drive the overall systems architecture.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively that meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment
• Experience working effectively with data science teams

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working and leading cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data requirements
• Familiarity or experience with front-end web development and user experience design
• Knowledge of Databricks and AWS Cloud Services
• Knowledge of ad platforms including DMPs, Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, Innovid, LiveRamp and DSPs (Google DV360, Trade Desk, Verizon Media Group)

The hiring range for this position in CA is $167,700.00 to $224,900.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
