The successful candidate will be part of the Corporate Communications team, working cross-functionally with our management and internal partners to support our growing business while enhancing the reputation of the Walt Disney Company (TWDC) in South Korea. This role includes external communications, strategic media/stakeholder relations, CSR and issues management.
Responsibilities
• Develop and execute strategic, integrated communication plans to support our business goals in South Korea and to enhance the corporate reputation
• Build corporate and consumer narratives as well as create stories around our brands (Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and more), Disney+, local and global content.
• Design a proactive and strategic media relations and engagement programs
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Public Policy and Legal to amplify key brand campaigns, partnerships and other initiatives
• Develop and execute CSR programs for South Korea
• Proactively identify and manage potential issues and opportunities
• Provide executive engagement support, including press outreach and speaking
opportunities
• Partner closely with stakeholders within media and entertainment industry and engage third-party advocates
Requirements
• Minimum 10 years of experience in communications, media, journalism, and/or agency
• Strong knowledge of local media landscape (broadcast, print and online); media and entertainment industry knowledge a plus
• Deep editor and stakeholder relationships in South Korea
• Issues and crisis communications experience
• Team player with experience working with virtual teams across markets and regions
• Excellent oral/written communication and project management skills
• Demonstrated creative thinking and strong project management skills
