Job Description

This position will report to the Inventory and Analytics Manager, will act in the capacity of Inventory Specialist, and will be accountable for the general success of the ABC OTVS traffic team.As part of this function, the Inventory Specialist will be responsible for daily log production, inventory management, preemption of spots, and communication with station sales team on log and inventory information.The Inventory Specialist must also be willing to cross-train within other station departments, including sales, operations, station programming, copy, and promotions.The Inventory Specialist will also be expected to work closely with the other teams' specialists, in order to share inventory information, improve standardization, and share best practices.The Inventory Specialist will work with their team manager and their sales management team to create and generate analytics to help better communicate inventory availability and usage, and other reports as necessary.

The success of the Inventory Specialist will be measured by the accuracy of logs, overall management of displaced units, reporting, and analytics, achieved best practices and improved standardization in WideOrbit, the ratio of displaced spot performance for the assigned station, and the outreach to other OCTO specialists and station contacts.The Inventory Specialist may be required to work hours within a range of M-F 8 am-830pm EST, as required by the business hours of the market assigned to the specialist.

The OTV Central Traffic Department is responsible for the production of all the linear logs and schedules for all of the ABC and Localish OTV Television Stations (8 markets, 18 logs total). The department consists of 4 core teams; 2 inventory teams, 1 programming team, and 1 copy team.This team works remotely, but team members are required to keep actively engaged with other members of the team, team members at station sites, Disney Ad Sales, and DC3 Operations in Woodlands, TX.Being open to maintaining regular connections through phone, Zoom (cameras on), Microsoft Teams, etc, is all required.

What You Will Do
• Oversight log preparation and inventory management of an assigned market, as well as acting backup to other markets on the team as required.
• Ensures accuracy of inventory and log prep for all ABC OTVS stations.
• Provides analytics and reporting to the OTVS group regarding inventory, revenue, etc.
• Work with station contacts to manage WideOrbit and standardized practices within the system.
• Educated on sales requirements for assigned market, to ensure log compliance, to report inventory/revenue correctly, and to keep automation and master control operations consistent with what is necessary to stay on air.
• Work directly with the OCTO programming team to obtain network programming information.
• Adhere to OCTO guidelines and work with stations on preemptions, reinstates, time shifts, etc.
• Work closely with other OCTO specialists on inventory and reporting questions and issues; troubleshoot log issues with OCTO managers, inventory specialists, and station contacts.
• Proactively work with the above contacts to achieve better streamlining and standardization of inventory and analytics.
• Training on log elements within WO for contacts at the station sites, to help them operate more efficiently and be better poised for standardized procedures.
• Working with a team of inventory specialists to maintain OCTO/station expectations on displaced spots
• Work with OCTO management on areas of inventory concern and keep management informed of the status of information that might impact inventory.
• Regularly participate in the station's inventory meetings.
• Assist with the OCTO mission statement to help enhance the revenue opportunities for the stations and to help provide best practices that both maximize revenue and improve operating conditions.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Minimum of one year of traffic experience.
• Experience in multiple traffic functions, especially log production and inventory management.
Operational knowledge of copy, programming/formatting, and master control functions is preferred.
• Familiarity with broadcast sales protocol and analytics/reports required for optimal sales/pricing functions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, especially via phone and email.
• Able to conduct team meetings and conference calls.
• WideOrbit experience is desired, but knowledge of other traffic systems is considered.
• Excel, Word, and PowerPoint experience required

Required Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education:
• Bachelor's Degree

The hiring range for this remote position is $53,022 to $84,920 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
