About The Role

The Disney Streaming Subscriber Analytics organization is focused on measuring and understanding the subscriber growth of the entire Disney Streaming business(Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu). This includes the entire subscriber journey, from acquisition to churn. Under the Subscriber Analytics organization, the Analytical Engineering team manages the critical subscriber data from which the entire business measures subscriber growth. Analytical Engineering is tasked with updating subscriber datasets to maintain current reporting & analytical usage while future proofing for new initiatives such as Product launches.

We are seeking an Analyst who will act as a subject matter expert for all facets of subscriber growth. This ranges from understanding the lineage of our data pipelines to mastering metric definitions. All of which is critical for designing and implementing core subscriber data models that enable internal clients to explore, analyze, and monitor data. Additionally, given the foundational nature of this dataset, this Analyst will collaborate widely across the entire organization. This Analyst will work with Product, Data Engineering, Data Science, Finance, and Business Ops to understand their data requirements and to make sure our data models fully meet their needs.

Responsibilities
• Design and implement core metrics & dimensions to be leveraged for monitoring business health monitoring and for measuring business decision success
• Design and implement scalable, intuitive data models that answer the analytical & business questions of today and tomorrow
• Partner with analytics stakeholders to fully detail the complexities of our subscriber data and to provide data usage best practices
• Create presentations and visualizations that provide analytical support for new subscriber metrics & concepts that both technical and non-technical audiences can understand
• Champion data quality by fostering relationships with engineering partners and minimize technical debt where possible
• Develop documentation for wide-ranging audience to use core subscriber data as intended

Basic Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in business, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field
• 3+ years experience in an analytical, technical, or business operations role
• 1+ years of SQL
• Familiarity with data platforms and applications such as Snowflake and Databricks
• Familiarity with Python/R
• Familiarity with data exploration and data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, Chartio, etc.
• Strong communication skills, as well as written and verbal presentation skills

Preferred Requirements
• Understanding of data analytics engineering concepts (e.g., SQL/Snowflake optimization, data modeling & design, etc.)
• Familiarity with Airflow
• Experience in the technology industry, knowledge of data products

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $95,300.00 to $127,800.00 per year, Seattle, WA and New York, NY is $99,900.00 to $134,000.00 per year, and in San Francisco, CA is $104,400.00 to $140,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
