Content Planning Supervisor
This is an FTC position ending in December 2025 that will require you to be onsite in Hammersmith 4 days a week.
About the Role & Team
Launched in March 2020, Disney+ is an SVOD service curated to appeal to wide audiences. The portfolio of content covers series and movies across a selection of brands, that range from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars to Fox & National Geographic. Within the service, there is the opportunity to stream the latest blockbuster movies through to nostalgia driven series from the 1980s and beyond. All content is available to be streamed on multiple devices and in an on-demand manner that reflects the subscriber's expectations.
This position will support the Content Planning Manager for Disney+ UKIE where they will work together to develop the strategies for the region. The focus on the UK & Irish markets requires the post-holder to have knowledge & appreciation of local SVOD, DTC markets and key players. This knowledge will inform strategic initiatives to ensure Disney+ remains ahead of the competitive set in these markets.
It is expected that you have strong knowledge and understanding of all the brands and content streams featured on the service along with a passion for entertainment and the latest technology involved in delivering that content to subscribers.
What You Will Do
• Responsible for supporting the Planning Manager with aspects of planning the Disney+ UK & Ireland service ranging from identifying the optimum content direction for the service, through to the practical scheduling of the content.
• Responsible for ensuring all long & short form content is scheduled in the Disney+ broadcast management system 'What's On' and the 'Content Planning Tool', or via any other required tool or process.
• Ensure all tracking documents (airtable) that cover content plans for the service are kept up-to-date and to high levels of accuracy. Seek to ensure the tracking documents and processes used are constantly reviewed, developed and improved so information is shared in the most effective manner.
• Role required to liaise with the local Media Networks teams in order to gain a clear understanding for when key movie & series titles will be available to launch on the service.
• Assist the planning manager with communicating content changes to stakeholders across the business. Ensure information is shared in a timely manner, in a format and style that allows for ease of understanding and clarity.
• Role requires the use of the Looker and BARB system to pull out performance data, curate the data into strategic lessons and share across the Disney+ UKIE team. Ensure these learnings are tracked.
• Role required to liaise with the US Content Operations and Technology teams to ensure timely content delivery.
• The successful candidate will be held accountable for handling sensitive planning information in a discrete and appropriate manner.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Experience working within a broadcast or SVOD environment.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and time management.
• Experience of using CMS planning systems preferably WON.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills and strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
• Strong knowledge and appreciation of the core Disney brands featured within the service.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse teams across multiple territories.
• Desire and adaptability to embrace the understanding of new technologies that the role will be required to feed into e.g., Airtable.
• The ability to work to tight deadlines and developing business demands.
