Job Summary
Corporate Strategy & Business Development (CSBD) is responsible for developing strategies to drive long-term growth for the company. CSBD team works closely with both APAC leadership and Managing Director of Korea of the Walt Disney Company (TWDC) to drive and support strategy development and execution.
We seek a candidate with experience in management consulting or corporate strategy in Korea. The role requires strong business development, problem solving and analytical skills, excellent team work, effective communication in both English and Korean, as well as ability to collaborate across a diverse range of stakeholders, including multiple levels of business and functional teams within TWDC.
Key Responsibilities
• Support and drive the Company's strategic planning, partnership/M&A and new business initiatives in Korea
• Serve as a core task force team member for a variety of strategic projects and initiatives. Collaborate and coordinate with various teams/lines of businesses (LOBs)/functions in the development of key initiatives and provide analysis to inform strategic decisions
• Support the country GM in identifying, analysing and executing potential partnerships in Korea
• Support Strategy Head in driving TWDC's Five-Year plan strategic planning process for Korea
• Research and analyze new and/or evolving market and consumer trends and draw insights and implications on business strategies
• Develop business plans to capture new business opportunities and key growth initiatives
• Contribute Korea input into APAC and global initiatives/strategies
• Create compelling, persuasive presentation materials to communicate key learnings and recommendations to senior level executives
• Create e nd-to-end financial simulation models to assess potential deals and other partnership opportunities
Qualifications:
• 6+ years of experience with minimum 3 years in a top management consulting firm and/or media/entertainment/tech company in strategy/business development
• (Preferred) Current or previous experience driving deals or other partnerships/alliances on either buy-side or sell-side
• Strong strategic thinker with excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Superior verbal and written communications skills (both English and Korean), particularly the ability to develop cogent arguments and present them concisely to a range of stakeholders, including senior executives
• Excellent teamwork capabilities and good cultural sensitivity
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; ability to produce complex financial models and full PowerPoint decks to support decision-making
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities
• MBA from a top business school with 3+ years of post-MBA experience (preferred)
• Basic programming language skills (e.g. SQL preferred); ability to write queries to extract data efficiently from data tables and pipelines (preferred)
