Production Manager (Original ANZ Productions)

Disney+ is an SVOD service that gives the whole family access to the biggest collection of Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and National Geographic and Fox content all in one place. Designed to be enjoyed at home or on the go as an iOS or Android app for tablet, mobile, and smart TVs, it allows fans to explore all of Disney's stories and characters.

This is an exciting opportunity as part of a strategic priority for the Company and growing digital subscription business, forming the future of the direct-to-consumer experience, which will engage our guests across digital multiple channels.

Reporting to the Line Producer, ANZ and working the Production Management team, this role will manage assigned productions across all stages; from development, greenlight preparation, to ongoing management in production and post.

This role will work within departmental guidelines, guiding third-party production partners and working closely with members of the DSS Content team keeping them up to date with all Production issues. This role is expected to bring with it professional external production experience and strategic planning skills to contribute to the positive and collaborative navigation of production challenges at all stages of projects.

Key responsibilities are to analyze third-party budgets and schedules, provide assessments around viability, prepare green-lights, monitor cost reporting, monitor production health and safety, including robust Covid-19 Management Plans, risk management standards, and appreciation of working with minors and talent.

You should have an excellent knowledge of the Disney brand and all associated content (Movies and TV) and a genuine passion for entertainment.

Responsibilities:
• To support the Content director, Line Producer, and Production Management team across the production slate
• With Content Director and Line Producer as leads, support budget negotiations with independent production companies (as assigned), benchmarking fair price and industry rates
• Manage assigned budgets and produce regular reports and analysis, working with finance stakeholders
• To continually seek to provide increased value to the success of the production through challenging the status quo, reviewing production processes, shaping and implementing improved ways of working
• Monitor health & safety practices with support from the Production Manager and keep informed about industry standards including Covid 19
• Monitor industry standards and practices to ensure Disney projects are aligned
• To enable production values to align with Disney quality expectations and build strong alliances with third-party producers

Basic Qualifications:
• Proven track record in the role of Line Producer / Production Manager (minimum 5 years), with preferred prior experience on the unscripted productions
• Prior experience preferred working within a streaming service/broadcaster and appreciation for onboarding third-party vendors, presentation assets, and risk assessment requirements for productions
• Proven experience in leadership roles and managing crews professionally
• Competent working across A to Z Excel and/or Movie Magic budgeting software
• Technical skills to understand the needs of all Productions
• Competent at analyzing cost reports, forecasts, and finance plans
• Be familiar with global and local Health and Safety obligations for Covid-19, and production and liability insurance requirements for scripted and unscripted productions
• Critical thinking with a can-do attitude and excellent communicator
• Ability to multitask and prioritise, working under pressure
• Have a strong network to keep abreast of industry trends, experiences, and workflows
• You will be a highly motivated professional with a proactive approach, willing to roll your sleeves up to get the job done
