The Team
We are an enthusiastic team of creatives who create ambitious social media marketing assets around DCP's tentpoles including the Billboard Music Awards, the American Music Awards, the Golden Globes, the Academy of Country Music Awards, The Streamy Awards, So You Think You Can Dance and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest. We execute a wide range of innovative, and compelling content for distribution across all owned, talent, partner, and sponsor social and digital platforms. We also provide creative services cross functionally handling requests from integrated marketing, development, PR and corporate for a range of sizzle reels, sponsor recap reels, graphic assets, and archival string-outs and mashups.
The Role
We are looking for a Los Angeles-based Art Director to oversee the daily operations of our Creative Services team in all visual facets of conception and development, production, and execution (including extensive hands-on design work). In this fast-paced environment you will assimilate a high volume of information from multiple sources on various projects against high stakes deadlines. The Art Director will be hands-on creating design elements and toolkits while also communicating both creative and operational goals, tracking against key milestones, and determining workflows and best practices. You will work closely with the Content Strategy and Partnerships teams, to ensure the content is on brand and executed at the highest levels.
The right candidate is an organized, decisive leader with excellent collaboration skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. You can jump into almost any creative situation with solutions and roll up your sleeves to help get the job done. This is a proactive role which requires nimble dexterity and endless energy in pursuit of creative excellence. You understand narrative conventions and visual storytelling for social media and can effectively communicate a creative vision to designers and editors.
Duties
• Hands on design work though all phases of a campaign – from mood boards, mocks to final execution
• Hands on collaboration with designers and editors
• Develop comprehensive creative strategies that deliver on all brand marketing goals
• Lead a passionate team of Creatives, and drive innovation and creative excellence
• Communicate creative and operational goals and objectives clearly and concisely to the team
• Hold the team accountable to the content strategy goals
• Communicate creative ideas to key collaborators and external partners
• Supervise projects, and manage deadlines, staffing and budgets
• Represent the Creative Services team at meetings, providing meaningful updates
• Create efficient workflows and processes
• Efficiently identify and solve problems creatively
• Mentor junior staff
Experience and Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in design
• Passionate about social media, with a demonstrated understanding of the various platforms
• Experience leading, managing, and mentoring a creative team
• A demonstrated ability to create visually stunning campaigns that resonate with an audience
• Exhibit a proven ability to manage creative projects from conception through execution
• Fluent in delivery specs and codecs across print and social media platforms
• Experience with video post-production workflows
• Possess exemplary collaboration and communication skills to work cross-functionally at all levels
• Exercises good judgment and the ability to make sound decisions, under tight deadlines
• Highly organized and adept at balancing multiple projects simultaneously
• Able to communicate through ambiguity and changes in creative direction
• Comfortable working non-standard hours (including weekends) when necessary
• Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment
• Must be a fan of music, fashion and pop culture
Typical wage range: $135k - $150k. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
